Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

Use of brand names

Is it legal to use the headline below in a print advertisement for an apartment

building in Beverly Hills that is close to an upscale retail shopping destination

Headline:

''Before you move in, we'd like to introduce you to your new neighbors:

Cartier, Armani, Versace...''

Is it legal to use the brand names ''Cartier, Armani, and Versaci'' in this

context without approval?

Re: Use of brand names

Yes. It's perfectly legal to use the brand names in this way. First, you're not using the brand names to sell counterfeit products. Second, you're simply stating a fact and using it as a sales pitch. Nothing wrong with that.
