Seems to me the news organizations are the ones putting out the RSS feeds, and all your app does is aggregate them. But some content owners don't (it seems) act rationally -- some news organizations have been going around suing people at the drop of a hat. Write the app; if it is any good, by the time you start getting cease-and-desist letters you'll have the money to hire your own lawyers. Even if you eventually have to abandon your app in the face of legal challenges, you'll have the personal satisfaction of having written an app, and you'll be able to leverage your achievement in other ways.
