car payments

I m making payments on a car and i fell behind with the car payments. they tell me now that if i dont pay 1700.00 there going to reposse my car i told them i could make the payment of 850.00 but they said no and there sending someone to take the car can they do that even after i make a payment?

The answer would probably be found in your financing agreement, but I'm going to guess that your biggest problem is not the amount you would owe after making a payment, but the length of time you've been behind. If you haven't been fully current in several months, that probably triggers some alarm at bank headquarters that says "Oh-oh, problem loan, go pick it up!"
