Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California
If I have custom design that I am printing on fabrics do I need to have that design trademarked, patented, or registered with the copyright office? How do I protect myself so others do not copy this pattern/design?

A creative design needs to be registered with the copyright office. If, by chance, that design is serving as a mark that identifies your clothing (i.e. the polo horse) then you would want to trademark the design as well. I could help you with both.
