Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California
Domain Name rights...
this one is a little tricky...
But, for the past 4 years ive been doing
freelance graphic design and have HAD
my portfolio website up at
www.chadcrews.com, my legal birth
given name. A little less than a year
ago, I was on tour and unable to be
working in the design field. My Domain
name expired and a company swooped
it up right away and started posting
links, with names of bands ive worked
for and different jobs ive done, linking
them to a portion of their site. Basically
using MY name in order to gain
customers for their clients.
ive tried talking to the company and
figure out a way to have the domain
reinstated to me so i can further
conduct a well run freelance business.
but the company is being stubborn, and
its becoming very frustrating.
so, how can i get my domain name back
into my possession??
i am going to be filling out TM and
copyright applications in order to avoid
this again in the future, but how can i
get MY domain back ?
please help.
the website in reference is: http://

Re: Domain Name rights...
The cheapest and easiest way is to go through WIPO arbitration. The arbitrator can order that domain name rights be transferred, but cannot award money damages.
My firm offers a flat fee for representation in WIPO arbitration. Please feel free to visit http://www.waltonroess.com/rates.html.
