Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California
Some friends and I want to put on a free staged production of Dr. Horribles Sing Along Blog. They are not giving rights at the moment but on their website the state "We obviously will not, could not,
and would not stop you from performing Dr. Horrible with your friends for the hell of it. Just for kicks, as they say." We would be doing for College units and would not charge admission or anything. What issues would we run into and would we be able to do it?

The Web site statement, if authentic and placed there by the copyright holder, seemingly would give you a defense of waiver if sued, but I'd also check with the faculty involved here to see how they feel about it.
