Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California
Hello lawguru,
I was wondering if it is legitmate to utilize iTunes 30 second sample songs as a ringtone by recording it. The 30 second samples are always free to use which is why I want to record one for a ringtone.
Thanks,
Chris

The answer to your question almost certainly depends on your intended use of the sample. Are you wanting to use it for just your personal phone, or distribute it to others, sell it to others, etc.
Have you read the iTunes agreement with this idea in mind?
