Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

I've meshed a video from an independent online newscast and a separate voice clip. I found both of those medias on youtube and was meant as a spoof, for entertainment purposes with the disclaimer of non-ownership of both medias. The uploader, or representative of the video source is threatening to sue me if i dont take off the video. Will it be possible for that person to sue me? How will I come about to leaving the video up on youtube while also remaining within legal boundaries? Thank you.

I think you are playing with fire and could get burned. Of course, the other party could be just bluffing. However, if it decides it wants to sue, it can.....this doesn't mean it will win, but you'd be obliged to defend (or lose by default).
