Usually you have to do that on your own. We can help form the business and take care of the legal aspects of patenting and finding investors, for a fee - let me know.

Business attorneys often act as advisers and may be of assistance. Our office handles start-up matters routinely. Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss the specifics further.

Re: Patent protection and investor search
Finding investors and protecting patents are two very distinct areas of legal specialization. I would be very cautious about entrusting both areas to a single attorney or small firm. Be sure whomever you retain has some depth of experience in each (or either) field. In particular, finding investors is tricky; a license to practice law is not to be confused with a license to act as a securities dealer, which is what one becomes upon going out and soliciting investors.
