Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California

My pictures are used without consent.

Hello.

I have a public blog using Yahoo! Service. I posted several pictures of me on my blog. Now other people start using those picture without my consent, even local newspapers also used them. Those violation make my family really unhappy and I feel really bad.

Can I sue them? And what crime did they commit? Privacy violation?

There are may different possibilities depending on the use of these photos because they were posted on the Internet. A good place to begin is Yahoo. I think you should look at the terms and conditions of the Yahoo Blog web site because it may define your rights and remedies. Otherwise, you may have to resort to standard remedies. First off you should let the other party know they have infringed on your copyright. However, anything more will probably be cost prohibitive as litigation is very expensive and the results are often uncertain.
