The statute of limitations is two years from the date of breach on an oral contract and four years on a written contract. On an "open book account" or an "account stated" as this appears to be, the four-year statute of limitations would apply, and it might not start until the bill was tendered. In any event, whether you are legally respnsible for the bill is not presently going to be affected in your favor by any statute of limitations.
