Legal Question in Intellectual Property in California
Hi, I have a twitter account for a for-profit web-content website. I want to use twitter to tweet current events news articles that is relevant for my audience.
Am i allowed to link news articles on twitter or facebook. For example, am i allowed to post on twitter a tweet like this:

There would be no copyright infringement in your example, especially if you do not copy substantive parts of the article you are referencing.
Your reference of the article would be considered "fair use" of the copyrighted title of the article, since you are merely using the name of the article/summary of its contents to refer people to the original source without unlawfully copying or distributing the substantive portions of the articles themselves.
If you decide to copy more information from the article, however, it would be smart to consult with a copyright attorney to be sure whether your excerpt(s) are still lawful to copy.
