Wanting to add copywrite music to my slide show
I am designing slide shows for funerals and am going to be using music from various artists. Do I need to get a license for every song I use? when I sell the dvd's do I just give the customer a copy of the license? How long does the license last? and what type of license is it called?

Yes, you need a license.
The specifics depend on what you can negotiate (with an attorney's help) with the licensing agent which services the copyrighted works.

Yes, you DO need a license for each song. Actually, you need TWO licenses for each song. You're looking for a SYNCHRONIZATION license. (which covers the musical composition), and a MASTER USE license, which covers the recording of the song.
Contact the music publisher for the Synch license, and the record company for the Master Use license.
You might try searching ASCAP and BMI's websites for information about the appropriate publisher to contact in each instance.
