eco terrorism

Is it illegal when in international waters on a whale ship doing research. A boat full of people come and attack you ramming your boat and throwing firebombs and other various potentially harmful objects and you take your weapons arsenal and fire back on them with live ammunition defending your boat.

So what is it you want? To sue them or have them prosecuted? Or are they prosecuting and/or suing you? Depending on where this happened and the nationalities of the respective vessels and crew, maybe a US court or US attorney will be interested, or maybe not.
