Legal Question in Investment Law in California
Membership to an investment company
I was invited to a member's only event. My membership of $5000.00 was not paid when going to event as they said I was a member and allowed to attend
Due to family reason I have canceled membership. Now company insists that I pay for the invited event that I went to in the amount of 10,000.00 Contract does not say if we cancel we have to pay for member events We do have the right to cancel at anytime for no reason Do I have to pay for a member event at cancelation.

Re: Membership to an investment company
It's hard to say for sure without looking at every communication between the membership organization and you, but my strong hunch is that this is a sham and a shakedown, and that no court would enforce this outfit's claim against you.
