Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in California

Foreclosure and disabled child

I'm a Spanish speaking father of 4 children. One is severely disabled. I'm an under employed construction worker. I'm 2 payments behind on my mortgage. I'm in danger of foreclosure. Is there anything I can do? My child does receive some SSI benefits.

Yes, if you get behind in your house payments, you can file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy which will give you up to 5 years to get caught up without your house going into foreclosure.
