Guardianship ex mother in law

My daughter is 14 and my ex mother in law has guardianships of her. My daughter and I both want the guardianship terminated, what age does a child have to be to say where they wish to live?

There is no magic age that the court uses. The court will always look to the child's best interest and will take the child's wishes into account when determining custody. It will be necessary to file a petition to terminate the guarduanship and the burden is on you to show the court why the relief should be granted. If you really wish to pursue this matter, you absolutely should consult with an attorney. Good luck!!
