Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in California

Sibling visitation

The juvenile court has recently made my daughter an in-home dependent based on the fact that my husband slapped his 14 year old son, my step-son. My step-son is claiming prior abuse which is totally false and there's no evidence of. My step-son is now living with his mother and our dispositional hearing is coming up and I would like to know if a juvenile court has the legal right to order visitation between my step-son and my one year old daughter. My step-son has emotional issues that I feel need to be dealt with in therapy first before I allow this. Can the court order this?

Re: Sibling visitation

The short answer is Yes. However, your lawyer and your daughter's lawyer can argue to the bench officer concerning your step-sons emotional problems and the need for therapy.
