Must an hourly employee in the state of Ca. have 8 hours between shifts worked, not including a so-called split shift. Is this an actual ca. labor law?

thanks much.

Re: 8 hours

I am not sure I understand your question but if you are asking whether there is a mandatory period between shifts the answer is for most industries; no. Certain occupations, airline pilot, truck driver ect., require periods of rest between shifts. Most employers realize a well rested employee is a productive employee so they schedule accordingly.

Thank you for your inquiry-Martin
