2 Weeks Notice of Termination

I recently gave two weeks notice at my commissioned sales job in california. Because I was leaving to work for a competitor my employer asked me to leave immediately. Is it reasonable for me to be paid through the period of time the two weeks notice would have included, or should I only be paid through the actual last day worked?
