Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Hello. I am an Academic Student Employee at Cal State University, Northridge. I work as a writing consultant for the ChS Department in the university. Two days ago, while working, I sat on a chair and the chair was broken and so I fell. I went to the student health center in the university and was told that a disk on my spine may have been displaced due to the fall. I informed my boss about the fall and was told that I would have to sign a few papers, but was never given those papers and have not been contacted yet. My question is, am I responsible for my fall or is it the fault of the university or department for not maintaining their office furniture in a safe condition?
