Legal Question in Employment Law in California
What should I do in a appeal case against the Labor Comissioners offic.
My former employer failed to pay me my final paycheck for an entire year. I filed a case with the labor comissioner entitling me to the $280.00 owed, with an additional $76 dollars a day up until 30 days or wages owed are paid; whichever is greater in penalty fees. Well the labor comissioner awarded me money owed in wages, excluding penalty fees- for lack of evidence. So I filed an appeal and I need to know- What are the next steps I need to take in order to move my case forward? Please help me if you will, Thank You!

There will be a trial in court if you do not settle first. The court will inform you of the trial date. You should be aware that if you lose, you will be responsible for employer's attorney fees.
