Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I'm applying for a job in CA and it asks about any convictions of felonies or misdemeanors, which I have a DUI in Utah. It has a Utah applicant Limitation section which says you a may answer "no record" if charged with a misdemeanor or summary offense. If my crime occurred in Utah does this limitation apply to me or just if I am applying for a job in Utah? I currently reside in CA but I wouldn't be considered a resident yet.

I don't think the limitation applies in California unless you have had the Utah misdemeanor expunged. However, I'm surprised that the CA job application is asking you to disclose both misdemeanors and felonies. Usually it will just ask about felonies. Or if it does ask about misdemeanors too it will exclude certain misdemeanors that you are not required to disclose on a job application such as certain minor marihuana offenses after more than a certain time period has passed since the date of conviction.
