Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Armored truck air conditioner
When our a/c in our armored trucks go out, we are told to finish up the route and then keep using the truck the next couple days. The temperature in these trucks get pretty hot, ( like an oven ), and we can't roll the windows down since they are bullet proof and we can't open the doors since we can be car-jacked. We feel dizzy, tired, our eyes get red, nauxious, sleepy...get the point? Do we have to follow orders? Please help?

Re: Armored truck air conditioner
Your employer is creating an unsafe and hazardous working condition which you have a legal right to complain about. Of course, such a complaint may jeopardize your job, so you may wish to either consult with a private attorney or with the Cal OSHA, to figure out how to best document the hazardness of the condition as well as the complaint itself. It is unlawful for employers to retaliate against employees who make these kind of complaints but that does not stop them from doing so.
