If you expunged or sealed your juvenile record, you could say no. Go to the juvenile court where your matters were heard. Bring your driver's license or other government-issued identification. Ask the Clerk in the Business Office if you were convicted of a felony.
If you were convicted of a felony, ask for an expungement package. Fill out the paperwork, get a money order for the filing fee, and go meet with Juvenile Probation, which, in San Diego, is right next to the Juvenile Courthouse. Ask to see a probation officer about expungement/sealing your records. Juvenile Probation will tell you everything you need to do to expunge or seal (get rid of) your juvenile record for future job applications. They will still help you even though you are an adult. Good luck!
If you were not convicted of a felony, I would still talk to Juvenile Probation and ask them what you should do when you fill out a job application. Sometimes, those applications ask you if you have ever been arrested.
Also, if you ever apply for a license issued by the State, or if you apply for a Federal or State job, you may still have to report an arrest or a conviction, then say that it has been expunged.
