Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Assaulted at work

I was assaulted at work by a fellow employee.A supervisor was present while it happened. The company said there would be an investigation. As far as I know nothing happened .I contacted my HR , union ,& his and mine supervisor. I also filed a police report.I work for an HMO and the company stated one time that there would be no tolerance for violence in the workplace.A similiar incident happened to two african-american employees. This incident was a verbal altercation( profanity was used )these two men were suspended. One for 7 days the other for 3 days.I'm a latino who was kicked by a white man , and yet nothing was done to this man.May I add that the man who assaulted me has a father who's a leadman for the same company and is well liked by management.Thank you
