Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Backdue Payroll and Company Bankruptcy

I work for a Company that owes back payroll, including bounced payroll checks, to myself and others. If this company files bankruptcy, what happens to my unpaid payroll and the returned payroll checks I am holding now. The company say's they will honor them this Tuesday but I feer they will close there doors by then. Do I have any recourse, and how do I handle my bills that are affected by this inconvienience? Is the Company liable for any of my fees accroued due to their lack of responsibility?P.S. this company already filed Bankruptcy under another name, We were told.

The State Labor Commissioner (Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement) would be the proper place to file a claim for unaid wages and bounced checks.
