Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Background Check Limitations
Hello,
I was convicted of a minor misdemeanor 8 years ago- I was suffering from a rare bout of bipolar disorder at the time and thought I was released on a ''time served'' basis. Such was not the case, as I just found out that a bench warrant was issued in relation to this case-which I will address immediately.
My question is this- I am applying for employment wherein the application's ask- any felony or misdemeanor convictions within the last 7 years? I can truthfully answer ''no''. Given that the conviction and attendant warrant are beyond the 7 year period being searched-do you think it will show up? Thanks for your input.

Re: Background Check Limitations
-I cannot provide an answer because I am unsure how the previous case actually resolved given that a bench warrant issued.

It will depend on whether you get convicted for the failure to appear or not. I am happy to help. Feel free to contact me at your convenience-Martin
