Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Background Investigations
When an agency is providing Criminal backgrounds to an employer, what can they include in their report? Can they include everything in a criminal case if there was a conviction or pleading of guilty. Is anything private in the Criminal case file?

Re: Background Investigations
Anything that is a matter of public record may be included in the report. If details of the case are contained in a court file, your employer may have access to it. You may wish to speak to a criminal defense attorney about how to have your file sealed.
