Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Banquet Service Charge
It is stated to the guest that an 18% service charge is applied to all food and beverage for their banquet. That service charge is then split up. First - 15% goes to the ''House'' as a source of revenue. Then - some to the manager, cook, busboy and then to the servers. My question - Is it legal for ''the House'' to take 15% of the 18% as revenue? Seems misleading -and just wrong!
