Boss blocking contracts
My husband was laid off from his company due to restructuring. Within 2 weeks of this lay off it was obvious that the restructuring reason was a sham because they made actions to the contrary of the described restructuring. There is a whistle blowing element involving his boss, a C-level employee. This same boss caused my husband a lot of stress in a number of ways, including demanding he do certain tasks and then oddly and viciously asking why he did them upon completion. This is where my question lies for you: As you might imagine without going into further detail, it was very difficult for my husband to complete contracts with other companies with whom he was told to obtain partnerships. Is there anything illegal about his boss preventing him from making those contracts happen? And, just before he was let go, he gave vital contracts to his boss for his signature but his boss never acknowledged them; they sat on his desk for a week and were there the day my husband was let go. These actions prevented him from meeting the quarterly goals he was given (though he never got previous performance reviews he was promised anyway!).

The focus of your inquiry should be addressing the reason why the boss was interfering with your husband's job. If he was retaliating against your husband due to something your husband did which is considered an important public policy, or if the boss was violating some legal right of your husband, or illegally discriminated against him, his actions would be illegal. If the boss simply disliked your husband because of a personality clash, there may be nothing he can do.
