Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Boss Bounced Pay Check

My boss owes me $1850 in work that i've already done. He knows he owes me the money but is giving me the runaround. Upon getting hired, we signed no written agreements, all agreements on employment and salary were verbal. The only evidence i have are copies of the work i've done for his company. All this happened about a month ago. Do I have any chance to get my money from him if I take legal action?

Re: Boss Bounced Pay Check

Yes. You can file a wage claim with the California Labor Commissioner. Be prepared to prove the work you performed (Hours worked is best, completed work is OK) and the details of your compensation negotiation.
