Boss cancels vacation approved in writing

After approving a vacation in writing, my boss later

told me I had to cancel the vacation to attend a

company sales conference. She strongly implied I

would be fired if I did not attend the sales

conference. I have paid over $3000 in non-refundable

hotel and airline c

The Company vacation policy will govern. If it provides a procedure for approval of vacation, the employer may be subject to a claim for the costs incurred if the employer requires cancellation. Termination for your wilful violation of a direct order will not be actionable.
