Breach of contract

If the company I'm working for offers me a certain amount of money for going to help the company in another city, isn't it considered breach of contract if they don't want to pay me the amount offered and want to pay me less?

Maybe, maybe not. Usually there's a lot more that an attorney would have to know to answer this question. But if that's the entire situation, it does sound unfair. However, unfair is often not illegal.
