Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I had a business which I bought with two investers. The investers were working in the business and no one made any profit during the time when the business was running. now they are claiming wages for the past 8 and 10 months. we have ahearing soon in labor dept. what are my options?Am I going to pay them or not.
