Legal Question in Employment Law in California

What is the CA Labor Law regarding Travel Time and Mileage reimbursement?

Are employees to be paid for travel time between work sites (daily) and reimbursed for the mileage on their personal vehicle?

Generally, the time traveling between one work/service destination and the other must be paid for although it can be compensated at a different hourly rate from that which paid for the work performed. The employer doesn't have to reimburse you for your travel from home to the first destination and from the last destination back home at the end of the day as this is considered like an ordinary commute to and from work.

Mileage, like any other necessary and reasonable expenses incurred in discharging duties should also be compensated for.

Thanks,
