Legal Question in Employment Law in California

California severance law regarding job elimination

I was transferred to LA 10 months ago for a new position. The project failed and the job is being eliminated.

I have been with the company for 20 years. They now want me to relocate back to N.J. I have sold and moved everything to LA and do not wish to move again three thousand miles.

They are offering a different job same money in N.J.

If I refuse the job in N.J. am I entitled to severance? If so how much?

Re: California severance law

you are not entitled to severance unless there is an established company policy on it. you are entitled to be paid for any unused vacation time.
