Legal Question in Employment Law in California

catch 22/Numbers or contract to our insured

I have been working for one of the top insurance companies for approx 6 mos: 5 or more people from my unit have left. The pressure is unbearable. My performance is not based on how well i do my job, but by the quantity of alternative(aftermarket, recycled)parts used on an estimate. It is even harder to maintain an above average percentile of alternative parts used, when the policy of the insured entitles the use of original parts furnished upon their request. many shop's and the customer's will not accept the use of alt. parts on a veh regardless. Comparison to other regions in the state(trends)are primary factor for possible raises. Many of the employees have figured out ways to cheat the system, by cost shifting or other unethical, illegal ways. I am one of the very few that does their job honestly and also the one with the lowest use of alternative parts in accordance to the company guidelines and the policy of our insured. Management is very heavy on my case because of my ''low'' numbers and make me feel incompetent and insecure at being able to do my job correctly. I am beginning to doubt myself and feel very frustrated. Management is smart at demoting instead of terminating employees for not obtaining the ''Numbers''.
