Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I currently have a "Change of control clause in my employment agreement". If the company is acquired and I am terminated, I receive severance. My question: If we are acquired and I was offered a position with the new company at a lower pay scale and required to relocate across the country, would this still be considered termination is I declined the offer and would I receive the severance pay?

The answer to your question would depend on the specific terms of your contract and, possibly, the events which led to its drafting. You are going to have to have an attorney review the contract, itself, and discuss the surrounding circumstances to get an informed legal opinion in response to your question.
