Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Change of Supervisor request

I am having problems with a supervisor at work. He is condensending, arrogant, irreverant and threatened me with discharge if I did not attend a meeting on a Sunday on my day off. I wrote a very detailed letter to his supervisor

requesting a change of supervisors. I explained all the reasons why and submitted copies of emails etc. along with this letter. That was 10 days ago. I have not heard anything. Do I have the right to request a new supervisor and must they respond. What do I do if they ignore the whole issue? I have sent a copy of the letter to my union. Thank you
