Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was charged with embezzelment by my employer, arrested on the job, handcuffed and walked throught the store by local police. I was booked and spent the night in jail. They have now dropped all charges. I have been denied employment because these charges show up on my backround check.

Can I sue them?

Hello.

It's possible that you have a legitimate claim for defamation for being falsely accused of a crime and having that accusation published orally and in writing, but more facts are needed to determine this. Feel free to follow up.
