Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Company A and B are vendors of Client C in California. I am h1B visa holder with company A as petitioner (sent on assignment to US from India) working for C and now B (FT offering in US) is offering me to work for same role in same client C. In short, my payroll will just switch from A to B that's the ONLY change. But Company A whose offer letter which I signed 3 years back, its mentioned that If i don't serve 60 days I have to pay $5500. That's Ok for me. Now it's also mentioned that I can't join client (here it's C) or any competitors (here it's B).

Company B is offering me better offer with great benefits, I am interested in joining B.

I want to check if there will be any consequences company A can create to me. I am little worried. Help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
