Re: company doctor refusal

You have the right to see any doctor of your own choice. However, the employer has the right to obtain a second opinion regarding matters that effect your ability to perform your job and the health and safety of your co-workers. If they require you to get a second opinion, they must pay for that second doctor. Also, you should know that you have the right to limit what information any doctor provides to the employer. The employer only has the right to know if you are able to work and whether you pose a health risk to yourself or others.
