Legal Question in Employment Law in California
My company gave me termination papers on Dec 17th and told me my last day would be Dec 31st. Yet on my last day (Dec 31st), I was only given my paycheck which did not include my accumulated vacation hours. I was later given an advance check for vacation hours on Jan 13th for only half of the earnings due to me. It's been over four months and I have not recieved the additional monies yet. What recourse of action could they try to provide to defend themselves in the Labor Commisioner's hearing that's coming up this month? I'd like to be prepared. Any advice that I should be prepared to submit would be helpful.

There is nothing in what you describe that suggests there is any defense to your claim with the Labor Standards Enforcement Division. If there is any defense or argument they might make, it would have to be based on facts that you have not provided.
