Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Company neglected to offer med/dental insurance

I just incurred a large medical bill. While discusing it with another employee, she asked why I hadn't opted for the medical/dental coverage offered by the employer?

I have been employed for 9 months and was never offered this coverage which reulted in my having to pay $1000 out of pocket for surgery.

If they offered insurance to one employee, aren't they required to offer it to all?

Re: Company neglected to offer med/dental insurance

Ask the employer to provide you a copy of the company medical plan. Generally, it will set forth an eligibility period for coverage.
