Legal Question in Employment Law in California
If my company owes me back pay for drive time going 4 years back and i want to give my notice how long do i have to wait to be paid. It is a large amount. I drove for 7-8 years and they never paid me drive time for driving to other centers to provide coverage. I turned in all my mileage reports along with my time card going back to 2011. If i give my notice do i lose out on that money? I really cannot handle this job anymore and want to leave soon.

You don't have to be employed to make an unpaid wage claim. In fact most people make them after they quit. However you generally can only go back four years from the date you file your claim. So you've blown half your claim by waiting so long to make it. You should contact a local employment attorney right away.
