Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Do I get compensated?

I recently left my job and went to a different company who happened to be a competitor. I gave me 2-week notice, however I was escorted out of the building. It was documented that I resigned and I gave them the option that I would work for the 2-weeks. Since the company that I went to was a competitor, they had to walk me out of the building. Should I be compensated for that 2-weeks that they left me off early?

Re: Do I get compensated?

No, you do not get compensated. What happened in a legal sense is that you quit effective two weeks from the date of your notice and they elected to fire you on the spot instead of accepting your offer to work another to weeks. They have the right to do that unless you have a written contract that says otherwise.
