Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Confidentiality Violation

I found out that my salary information (along with other employees) was released to a co-worker as a comparison of salaries.

I accidently found out because the co-worker is a friend of mine. I feel that my rights have been viloated and my confidential information is floating around. It was a report run from the HRIS system and included name, Doh, salary, etc.

I want to know what my punitive damages may be if my company does not discipline the person. I want my company to know the seriousness of this situation.

Re: Confidentiality Violation

Have you tried going to som, eone in authority to complain? You should be thinking about keeping your job rather than a lawsuit.
