Legal Question in Employment Law in California
I contacted an attorney in regards to a work issue involving myself and two coworkers . He agreed we had an overtime issue and on meeting asked us to sign contracts with him. My coworkers signed without reading. The attorney pressured me to sign immediately saying things like.."you don't trust me?". I read, signed and returned the contract a few days later . The attorney filed a class action suit naming my two co-workers as plaintiffs but not me. He said it doesn't matter since it is a class action suit. Is this accurate? This seems unethical, as I was the one who engaged him.

Without seeing the contract you signed, seeing acopy of the class-action complaint, and hearing the explanation, it is impossible to say. You should certainly talk to the attorney if you want to be named a class representative, and to make sure you understand the obligations involved.
