Continue State Disability or Unemployment

Working for a small company of 6 employees I have been fired for being taken off of work for a back injury by my doctor. Currently I'm on State Disability. Do I continue on this while I'm injured or do I need to apply for unemployment now?

To be eligible for unemployment benefits, you must be ready, willing and able to work. If you are, you are not eligible for SDI. You cannot receive both at the same time. When you are released by your doctor to return to work, apply for unemployment.
